Despite considerable improvements in sexual and reproductive health and the success of ongoing health-care reform, the Kyrgyz Republic continues to struggle with high maternal mortality. UNFPA focuses on helping the country make progress in reducing maternal mortality and works on the integration of reproductive health services into the general health-care delivery system. It partners with state agencies to support youth-friendly health services and to improve data availability and policy formulation around population dynamics, sexual and reproductive health, and gender equality.
