In a world of uncertainty and complexity, agile and adaptive evaluations are essential for driving transformational change. This free adaptive evaluation resource pack includes comprehensive guidance and tools for enhancing the use of evaluation, fostering real-time learning and adaptation, and capturing complexity and contributions in unpredictable environments. It also focuses on leadership roles in adaptive evaluation and promoting a mindset that embraces adaptive evaluation and continuous improvement.
The resource pack complements A-Compass, the adaptive management model of UNFPA, by advancing adaptive evaluation approaches, a crucial component of adaptive management. In addition, the resource advances the implementation of the Evaluation Policy 2024 and Evaluation Strategy 2022-2025, by helping UNFPA further transition towards more targeted, adaptive, user-oriented, responsive and relevant evaluations. The resource package is part of the third phase of the developmental evaluation of results-based management at UNFPA, which involved supporting offices in testing methods, promoting a community of practice, and coaching early adopters of adaptive evaluation.
Overall, the adaptive evaluation resource pack is designed to facilitate evidence-based decision-making, organizational learning, and accountability. This approach is key to advance the implementation of the International Conference on Population and Development's (ICPD) Programme of Action during its 30th year and contribute to the acceleration of the Sustainable Development Goals.
