The Deyr rainy season (October-December) has begun in parts of Somalia, causing displacement, loss of life, and destruction. Over 1.2 million people in flood-prone riverine areas face displacement risks. The Somali Disaster Management Agency issued an early warning about El Niño, anticipating increased rainfall and flooding during the current Deyr season. Somalia declared an emergency in areas affected by torrential Deyr rains and floods.

Immediate humanitarian needs include access to reproductive and general health services, protection assistance (especially for women and girls), food, shelter, and WASH facilities. Significant funding gaps challenge the sustainability of existing health facilities.
