On 13-17 April, the 48th session of the Commission on Population and Development – with the special theme of “Realizing the Future We Want: Integrating Population Issues into Sustainable Development, Including in the Post-2015 Development Agenda” – will take place at UN Headquarters in New York. The Commission is tasked with identifying ways to integrate population issues into the new sustainable development agenda.
This year, the Commission will address challenges that include issues within the areas of family planning, migration, fertility and urbanization, as well as others. Issues in these areas will be crucial to achieving sustainable development in the years ahead.
