The Position:
The National Reproductive Health Commodity Security Specialist - Supply Chain Management (National RHCS Specialist – SCM) plays a coordinating role in managing programme supplies intended to be used in UNFPA supported programmes. The National RHCS Specialist - SCM works closely with the National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA), Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services (DPS) and Directorate of Reproductive and Child Health (DRCH), Ministry of Health and ensures realization of the delivery of UNFPA supported interventions in supply chain management. The incumbent substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of RHCS/SCM and provides substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks.
You will be under the supervision of the RHCS Technical Specialist at the country office.

Job Purpose:
The National RHCS Specialist - SCM plays a Coordinating role supporting the UNFPA RHCS Specialist in strengthening the national health supply chain management system with focus on reproductive health and family planning (RH/FP) progamme supplies. S/he will provide support in programme planning, share knowledge and insights to facilitate quality country programme implementation and regular monitoring and reporting. S/he ensures coherence with agreed national and international planning frameworks, including UNFPA Strategic Plan 2022-2025, UNFPA 7th Country Programme, the agreed United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, the National Development Plan, and related sectoral strategies. She/he establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with counterparts in government, multi-lateral and bi-lateral agencies, and civil society organizations to address emerging issues and to facilitate programme delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Advanced University Degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Supply Chain Management or other related fields.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Five years of relevant experience working in Supply Chain Management/Health Logistics
- Experience working on inventory management which involves monitoring, tracking and follow-up of inventory data at all levels using paper-based and electronic national health management information systems (HMIS) and/or Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS)
- Experience in forecasting, quantification, ordering and distribution of commodities.
- Experience working with Government, UNFPA supported programmes is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work with governments, network within the academic and development community.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required.
