The Position:

The Gender Analyst is responsible for securing technical inputs to the planning, conceptualization, implementation, monitoring and assessment of gender and gender-based violence (GBV) interventions in development and emergency settings.

You will report directly to the National Gender Specialist.

Job Purpose:

In a highly complex operating environment, you will contribute to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of GBV and Gender, including in humanitarian settings.

You will facilitate the delivery of UNFPA’s gender and GBV workplans and the appropriate application of systems and procedures.

You will be expected to analyze and assess relevant political, social and economic trends and provide substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education

Advanced university degree in Gender Studies, Law, Social Work or any other relevant field of study.

Knowledge and Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in managing adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and participation programmes;

Demonstrated ability to refine programme design and to ensure alignment of organizational programme objectives to national priorities;

Extensive knowledge of Pakistan’s socio-cultural issues, legal provisions, and systems of administration;

Experience in conducting GBV-related research is preferable;

Knowledge of rights-centered approaches and gender mainstreaming;

Strong interest in development work, especially the mission of the United Nations Population Fund and dedication to the principles of the United Nations;

Knowledge of the UN system would be an advantage;

Excellent writing, communication presentation and computer skills.

Languages:

Fluency in English and Urdu are required, knowledge of local languages is an asset.
