A meeting titled Population, Urban Poverty and Planning in the Context of the Global Crisis was held in Quito, Ecuador 24-25 August. The meeting was organized by the Government of Ecuador and UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund. The meeting aimed to promote the exchange and discussion of best practices in reducing urban poverty, with a particular focus on population and sustainable development policies, as well as poverty reduction in urban areas in the context of the global financial crisis.
