Given the need to address persisting inequalities, human rights and intersecting forms of discrimination and exclusion across Asia and the Pacific, the first ICPD30 stakeholder consultation focused on leaving no one behind in sustainable development. Steered by a committee of 13 civil society organizations engaged in ICPD processes, UNESCAP and UNFPA, the consultation was held online on 21 June 2023.

Three working groups discussed diverse women, girls and gender-diverse persons; marginalized communities living amid conflict or dealing with humanitarian settings, natural disasters or forced displacement; and the need for access to universal health coverage including sexual and reproductive health and rights services. The groups reflected on implementation progress, challenges, emerging issues, good practices and lessons learned, and then crafted recommendations. The consultation’s summary report will feed into the information paper providing recommendations for the upcoming regional population conference.
