UNFPA Response in Haiti Situation Report - April 2023

Haiti is facing a complex crisis due to political, economic, and humanitarian challenges, worsened by high insecurity, violence, and environmental vulnerabilities. An IASC System-Wide Scale-Up for Haiti was initiated on 17 April 2023 and remains active.

The country continues to witness violence related to armed groups, with gangs controlling or influencing the majority of the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area and expanding their criminal operations nationwide.

UNFPA is working to enhance its humanitarian response, providing life-saving sexual and reproductive health services and addressing gender-based violence among women and girls. This report outlines activities conducted during January-March 2023.
