UNFPA is providing life-saving services to women and girls in need of humanitarian assistance, as a result of the war in Ukraine. This includes people displaced inside Ukraine and others who have fled to neighboring countries.

In the period May-June 2023, UNFPA and its partners trained over 1,350 people to enhance sexual and reproductive health and gender-based violence services, and distributed 5,870 dignity kits as a first entry-point for further services and assistance.

UNFPA continues to support 29 “Vilna” women-friendly spaces across Ukraine, 28 safe spaces in Moldova, eight of them mobile, and five safe spaces in Romania to conduct outreach activities targeting the refugees and host communities. UNFPA safe spaces are dedicated to women, youth and older persons.
