Ecuador is the main provider of modern contraceptives for its population. In recent years, the Ministry of Public Health partnered with UNFPA for the acquisition of contraceptive supplies worth more than 40 million US dollars using their national funds.
To respond to unplanned pregnancies costs the country 5.4 times more than preventing it. By partnering with UNFPA, Ecuador saves up to 17 dollars for every dollar invested in sexual and reproductive health.
