As crises escalate, women and girls are paying an unacceptable price. Around the world, 2022 saw deepening conflict, widespread hunger and major climate disasters. Today, over 100 million people are forcibly displaced worldwide. The majority are women and children, many of whom are struggling to survive and face daily threats to their health, rights, safety and dignity. UNFPA is on the ground providing humanitarian aid in more than 60 countries. In 2023, UNFPA is appealing for $1.2 billion to provide life-saving services and protection to approximately 66 million women, girls and young people in 65 countries.
