Position Summary -

The RH Coordinator post is located in Sana’a. Under the overall direction of the UNFPA Representative for Yemen and direct supervision of Deputy Representative, the incumbent will be responsible for RH programme coordination & monitoring including RHCS and RH coordination in humanitarian situations. The RH Coordinator works in close collaboration with Programme Officers, Operations staff and counterparts at the Regional Office and HQ. The RH Coordinator works in an integrated manner with other UN Organizations, technical staff in host government and civil society organizations to ensure successful implementation of UNFPA- supported programmes. During the humanitarian crisis, RH Coordinator works in partnerships with other cluster coordinators.

The primary roles of the RH Coordinator are:

  • RH programme coordination & monitoring including RHCS ;
  • RH coordination in humanitarian situations;
  • Strengthening  of  CO’s  strategic  partnerships 

Responsibilities of the RH Coordinator include: to support the implementation of the UNFPA Yemen RH programme  by undertaking leadership on RH programme coordination and monitoring, including RH coordination during the crisis; to identify new and emerging needs and optimize  RH supply chain management; to develop and maintain partnerships among other agencies, clusters and within Health Cluster during the crisis; 

Education: 

 Advanced degree in RH and public Health or relevant Social Sciences;

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in working with RH programming/ coordination with UNFPA or other United Nations organization, including  in humanitarian settings;
  • Experience in managing RH or health programmes with direct experience relating to supply chain management systems, advising on RH commodities and health systems at national or international level;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of reproductive health issues and/or protection issues in humanitarian settings,  and of humanitarian emergency operations and roles/responsibilities of humanitarian actors;
  • Experience in program management;

Languages: Proficiency in English. Advanced Arabic is an asset
