The Local Security Assistant (LSA) is a Temporary Appointment post located at the UNFPA Syria Field Office in Aleppo and directly report to Security Specialist based in CO and provide supports to the Head of Field Office in Aleppo in the performance of his/her security related duties/functions.

Under the overall supervision of the UNFPA Head of Field Office in Aleppo, and the direct supervision and guidance of the UNFPA Syria Security Specialist (SS), the LSA will assist in the implementation of security standards and on all matters relating to the management of safety and security for UNFPA office, personnel, assets and operations in Aleppo. The LSA will ensure that the UN Security Risk Management (SRM) measures are fully implemented pertaining to the safety and security of personnel, premises and assets of UNFPA Aleppo office in Syria. He/she will ensure that the Area Security Plan is well integrated and exercised by all UNFPA Aleppo personnel including the contingency plans.

You Possess

Your Education:

  • Secondary education is required. Bachelor degree in Administration or political sciences and security/military fields are desirable.
  • 5 years of experience in security, preferably in the military or police context or related field of work.  Experience in UN/International related environment is an advantage.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS WORD, EXCEL, etc.).
  • Good relations and influence with national security organizations is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge in the usage of google maps.

Your Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
