Job Summary

The incumbent will be in charge of leading the internal environmental efficiency efforts of UNFPA. Hereby ensuring UNFPA’s status as a climate neutral organization while enforcing the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and waste creation of UNFPA offices globally.

You will report directly to the Chief Facilities Section.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:  

Advanced University Degree in Environmental studies, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
 
Knowledge and Experience: 

  • 5 years of general experience in implementation of environmental efficiency projects at the national and international level;
  • Knowledge of latest development and technology in the environmental field;
  • Knowledge of emission reduction and CO2 emissions calculations;
  • Ability to support and guide field offices in accomplishing environmental goals;
  • Ability to formulate business requirements into logical system specifications; 
  • Prior experience in working with the UN Environmental Inventory Software is a distinct advantage

Languages: 

Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable.
