Policy and Procedures on Management of Programme Supplies

Resource date: 2018

The policy and procedure outline the different supply-chain management (SCM) processes and introduce controls, roles and responsibilities required to improve the effectiveness of up-stream and down-stream SCM activities to (i) meet programme objectives, (ii) clarify the nature and extent of UNFPA’s programmatic and fiduciary responsibility for programme supplies, (iii) improve internal supply chain capacity at all levels and (iv) mitigate the most significant risks inherent to this business process.  Among the most noteworthy requirements, the policy clarifies the nature and extent of UNFPA’s programmatic and fiduciary responsibility for programme supplies, down to the “last mile”, and prescribe how to discharge it.
