On January 15, Gaza marked the 100th day of continuous war, with the crisis escalating daily. Of Gaza's 2.2 million people, over 1.7 million people are affected including those forcefully displaced multiple times. The Ministry of Health Gaza reported 25,490 deaths and 63,354 injuries, as of January 23, with 70% of the casualties being women and children. Overwhelmed hospitals lacking essential resources raise concerns about safe delivery services. Humanitarian access has been denied, particularly in the north, hindering the delivery of pharmaceuticals, supplies, medical equipment, and services by UNFPA and other actors.

On January 5th, a high-risk mission by UNFPA and WHO delivered much-needed reproductive health supplies to Nasser Hospital and the UNRWA field hospital to ensure safe births.

In the reporting period, UNFPA distributed reproductive kits containing clean delivery items, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and equipment for basic and comprehensive emergency obstetric care. Kits for menstrual health management, adolescent dignity, and family hygiene were also provided. Some one-off cash transfers were made to vulnerable women, including pregnant and lactating women.
