This annual report describes results and good practices in 46 countries of the UNFPA flagship thematic fund to achieve reproductive health commodity security.

In 2012, governments and partners took action to ensure that national health systems have the capacity and resources to provide a steady supply of quality, affordable essential supplies. Record-high donor support of $181 million in 2012 brought the total support for this five-year programme to $565 million, building on global momentum for family planning. This commitment was echoed by a strengthened commitment by countries with high unmet need to ensure that all may exercise their right to voluntary quality family planning information and services. Also this year, UNFPA engaged donors and partners in drafting a robust framework for the GPRHCS 2013-2017.

Through the GPRHCS, UNFPA ensures access to a reliable supply of contraceptives, condoms, medicine and equipment for family planning, HIV/STI prevention and maternal health services.
