Combating child marriage in Nepal

Published on: 14/05/2019

This video is about combating child marriage in Nepal through community empowerment under a global programme to promote the rights of adolescent girls to avert marriage and pregnancy, and enable them to achieve their aspirations through education and alternative pathways. The UNFPA-UNICEF Global Programme to Accelerate Action to End Child Marriage, working in 12 countries including Nepal, where child marriage rates are high, supports households in demonstrating positive attitudes, empowers girls to direct their own futures, and strengthens the services that allow them to do so. The programme is funded by Canada, European Union, the Netherlands, the UK, and Zonta International.
