Türkiye/Syria Earthquake Joint Situation Report #2 - 3 April 2023

UNFPA is responding to the devastating earthquakes that struck Turkiye and Syria in February by supporting services and supplies for sexual and reproductive health, prevention and response to gender-based violence, psychosocial support and cash assistance.

This joint situation report #2 provides highlights including the following:

UNFPA RESPONSE  IN TÜRKIYE 
• 6,200 individuals reached with SRH services and counselling
• 7,400 individuals  reached with GBV services and counselling 
• 13,900 individuals reached with dignity and maternity kits distributed 
• Six UNFPA-supported static service units deliver SRH and GBV services 
• One tent service unit provides SRH and GBV services 
• 10 mobile outreach teams provide SRH and GBV services 
• 2,100 reproductive health commodities distributed

UNFPA RESPONSE IN THE WHOLE OF SYRIA:

• 123,440 individuals reached with SRH services and counselling 
• 106,321 individuals reached with GBV services and counselling 
• 50,381 individuals reached with dignity and maternity kits distributed 
• 43 UNFPA-supported static service units  deliver SRH and GBV services 
• 49 mobile teams provide SRH and GBV services 
• 209 reproductive health kits procured

UNFPA has issued two appeals to fund its responses in Syria and Türkiye, with a total ask of $44.5 million.
