The international community is committed to eliminating child marriage by 2030, as one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

To keep this goal on global, regional and national agendas and to accelerate change, UNFPA and UNICEF launched the Global Programme to End Child Marriage in 2016. Over a 15-year period, in 12 countries across four regions, the Global Programme is working with multiple partners to end child marriage. There are many reasons for governments, foundations and organizations to invest in the Global Programme.
