Conflict, climate shocks and the socioeconomic impacts of COVID-19 continue to negatively impact a significant proportion of Ethiopia’s population. An estimated 25.9 million people are in need of humanitarian aid, with 4.2 million internally displaced at the end of 2021.

UNFPA is scaling up its operations across six regions of Ethiopia (Amhara, Afar, Somali, Benishangul Gumuz, Tigray, and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region (SNNP)) working with partners, including women-led organizations and communities, to provide life-saving sexual and reproductive health services for women and girls in need.
