In 2025, the UNFPA Supplies Partnership met the moment – turning a year of unprecedented global volatility into a decisive catalyst for change. The Partnership chose innovation over retreat, launching a revamped programme model and delivering results at unprecedented scale, from a budget of US$184.3 million generating $5 billion in economic benefits by 2050. A Global Health Initiative reaching 23.3 million women and girls in 2025, the Supplies programme strengthened health systems in 54 partner countries.
The UNFPA Supplies Partnership Annual Report 2025 showcases key achievements:
- Quality-assured contraceptives procured through the Partnership prevented 10 million unintended pregnancies, averted 3 million unsafe abortions, and saved $754 million in direct health care costs.
- Partner countries mobilized the highest levels of domestic financing for SRH commodities on record, and a more than sixfold increase since 2020.
- 49 countries procured new and lesser-used products through UNFPA, expanding availability and method choice.
- All 54 partner countries conducted Last Mile Assurance to strengthen supply chains to reach remote, rural and humanitarian settings.
- Despite global funding shifts, the programme welcomed $198.2 million in contributions from 18 donors.
Innovative approaches for sustainable financing incentivized national investment in family planning and maternal health. All 41 eligible countries signed the Compact, an agreement that strengthens accountability and commitment to domestic funding for SRH commodities. The UNFPA Supplies Match Fund reached $63.3 million in awards, matching government resources 2:1 from 2022 to 2025. Catalytic SMART Advocacy initiatives engaged diverse partners to mobilize domestic resources, supported by the Health System Strengthening (HSS) funding stream.
