No. of pages: 36

Publication Date: December 2016

Author: UNFPA, Promundo and the MenEngage Alliance

This publication is a tool for action developed by UNFPA, Promundo and the MenEngage Alliance. It provides guidance on best practices to promote partnerships between civil society organizations and government representatives on engaging men and boys in gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

The goal of this publication is to strengthen these relationships to scale up and/or institutionalize evidence-based approaches to promoting gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights. This will be critical for moving beyond small scale and pilot initiatives.

The tool was developed based on the findings from a global mapping of government-supported initiatives on engaging men and boys in gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as expert group meetings. The mapping initiative was carried out by Promundo-US with support from UNFPA.
