UNFPA Launches New Online Video Channel

  • 28 May 2010

NEW YORK — It is easier than ever to get a sense of what UNFPA's work looks like on the ground, thanks to its new video channel. With this new channel, UNFPA's library of more than 100 videos will be accessible at a faster connection speed, in a larger format, with higher resolution and better sound than before.

"We wanted to give people a window into the work of UNFPA," says Alvaro Serrano, Internet/Multimedia Manager. "The new site features stories, which highlight every aspect of UNFPA's work and build understanding of the challenges that lie ahead."

Visitors to the new UNFPA Video Channel can browse the collection by thematic area or search by keyword. Hovering the mouse arrow over 'ShareThis' enables visitors to utilize any of the available social networking tools – such as Facebook, Twitter and Del.icio.us, to rate and share our videos widely. The collection will continue to expand as new videos come in.

UNFPA also maintains a separate YouTube channel featuring some premiere content, and UNFPA welcomes contributions from organizations and individuals with relevant and well-produced videos. For more information, contact Alvaro Serrano at serrano@unfpa.org.
