The Position:

You will manage UNFPAs Fistula and Maternal Morbidities program, the Campaign to End Fistula Thematic Fund, support maternal & newborn health & wellbeing fund raising efforts and lead communication, advocacy, and knowledge management efforts. You will work within the Maternal and Newborn Health Thematic Fund (MHTF) team and the SRH Branch and liaise with other technical and programme staff across UNFPA such as the Media and Communications Branch, the Information and External Relations Division, Regional Offices and Country Offices, as well as external private and public partners. You will report to the Maternal & Newborn Health Thematic Fund Coordinator who provides overall strategic direction.

Job Purpose:

You will provide technical and programmatic leadership in terms of UNFPA policy and strategy related to the Fistula and Maternal Morbidities Program and Campaign to End Fistula and contribute to policy making and strategies related to sexual and reproductive/maternal & newborn health and their inclusion in the global development agenda.

Qualifications and Experience  

Education:  

Advanced university degree in Public Health or Social Science.

Knowledge and Experience: 

• Seven years of experience in international development including public health, including sexual and reproductive health, preferably in Obstetric Fistula and Maternal Morbidities.

• Experience in generating communication, advocacy, and knowledge products within the scope of the fistula program but also for the MHTF are additional areas of work.

• Field experience.

• Knowledge of the United Nations system an asset.

Languages: 

Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, French is an asset.
