The position:

Under the overall guidance of the UNFPA International Midwifery Specialist, and direct supervision of Midwifery Project Analyst the incumbent will support the Country Office to respond to the needs of midwifery projects and will provide support for reporting and finance of the projects. 

Working within the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights unit, the position entails providing quality support to different project personnel. This also includes preparation of relevant project documents and reports, specifically for donors and partners.  The position also requires further monitoring of implementation of activities and financial expenditure.   The position will assist the midwifery team in promoting the midwifery profession and capacitating midwifery institutions to provide maternal and newborn care in Bangladesh.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Advanced university degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Midwifery Education or related discipline. 

Knowledge and Experience:

Minimum 3 years of professional experience with at least 5 years of experience in reporting, coordination, or research. Prior experience in accounting/finance is an asset;

Proven ability to produce reports, analysis, and research documents

Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and project budgets;

Knowledge of midwifery in Bangladesh, with prior experience working in a midwifery programme.

Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, precision and accuracy;

Ability to formulate project implementation and data into cohesive and up-to-date reports/documents

Proven ability to work with the Government and familiarity with Government documents

UN common system experience, especially field experience, is desirable.

Languages:

Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French and/or Spanish, is desirable.
