The Planning, Coordination and Reporting Specialist post is located in the Strategic Coordination Team of the Policy and Strategy Division (PSD) Directorate.

Job Purpose:

The Planning, Coordination and Reporting (PCR) Specialist provides day-to-day operational support to the Director, facilitating coordination and collaboration across all units within and outside the Division. The Specialist is responsible for coordinating the development, monitoring and delivery of the Division’s Office Management Plan. The Specialist oversees the development and management of the PSD budget, ensuring conformance with established processes. The primary roles of the PCR Specialist are: (a) support for planning and management of PSD, (b) technical support to the Director, (c) support for monitoring and follow-up of PSD actions and (d) support for coordination within and outside PSD.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Advanced university degree in public health, social science, demography, gender, management, public administration, international development or a related field.

Knowledge and Experience:

• 5 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in development work;

• Strong analytical ability;

• Professional experience in policy / strategy work is an asset;

• Basic research skills and familiarity with quantitative and qualitative methods;

• Strong writing and oral communication skills;

• Good network within the academic and development community;

• Field experience is a strong asset.

Other Desirable Skills:

Initiative, strong conceptual abilities, sound judgment, ability to multi-task, robust drafting ability, resilience and an interest in development work.

Languages:

Verbal and written fluency in English is required; a working knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
