Position summary:

The Programme Analyst, SRHR is located in Nay Pyi Taw Country Offices (CO) and reports to the UNFPA Assistant Representative.

The Programme Analyst, SRHR substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of population and development, sexual and reproductive health and gender equality and women’s empowerment. S/he analyses and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends and provides substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of UNFPA’s programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation. S/he ensures and guides the appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience

Education:  

•    Advanced degree in health, medical studies, population, demography and/or other related social science field.

Knowledge and Experience:

•    Minimum two years professional experience in the field of SRHR activities, preferably
programme/ project management.
•    Proven working experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights.
•    State of the art knowledge on family planning and contraceptive technologies, including maternal health and experience of working with vulnerable communities.
•    Knowledge and understanding of conflict sensitivity and “do no hard” approach is an asset.

Languages:

•    Fluency in oral and written English and Myanmar is essential with ability to write clearly and concisely and to compose correspondence and documents in both languages. Knowledge of local languages in UNFPA target states and regions is an asset.
