The Position:
The Programme Analyst. Midwifery is located in Bangladesh Country Offices (CO) and reports to the International Midwifery Specialist.

Job Purpose:
The Programme Analyst, Midwifery substantively contributes to the effective management of UNFPA activities in the areas of population and development, reproductive health and gender. S/he analyses and assesses relevant political, social and economic trends and provides substantive inputs to project formulation and evaluation, joint programming initiatives and national development frameworks. The Programme Analyst, Midwifery guides and facilitates the delivery of UNFPA’s programmes by monitoring results achieved during implementation. S/he ensures and guides the appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Advanced degree in midwifery, nursing or medicine.
Knowledge and Experience:
Two years professional experience in the field of development and population activities, preferably in programme/project management.
Prior experience working with the Director General of Nursing and Midwifery Service and/or the Bangladesh Midwifery and Nursing Council would be highly desirable.
Good understanding of the health sector wide approach and the operational plans relevant to midwifery would be an advantage.
Good understanding and / or experience working with the Bangladesh Midwifery Society would be an asset.
Prior association with the midwifery educational institutes would be an advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Bangla is required. Working knowledge of another UN language an asset.
