Job Setting:

The Procurement Analyst post is located in the UNFPA Mozambique Country Office (CO) in Maputo, and under the overall guidance of the Country Representative, reports directly to the Operations Manager. 

 

Job Purpose:

The Procurement Analyst delivers quality services in procurement and logistics to internal and external clients, in the context of the Joint Programme Reproductive Maternal Neonatal Child and Adolescents Health (RMNCAH). He/She masters all relevant rules, guidelines, processes, and procedures. Ensures proper and effective use of UNFPA’s and external partners’ resources. Takes a client-oriented, results-focussed approach to interpreting the rules, procedures and guidelines, providing support and guidance to the Country Office. 

 

Education:

Advanced university degree in business administration, public administration or a related field. Specialized knowledge in the field of Procurement, Logistics and or Supply Chain, is desirable. 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Two years of relevant experience in management or operations of development projects/programmes; or with specific experience in procurement operations
  • Proven experience in successfully managing complex bid processes for complex products and services;
  • Experience in international, public procurement or contracts and supplier management is highly desirable.
  • Experience with UN procurement, finance and contracting regulations and procedures will be a decided advantage.
  • Knowledge of global health and pharmaceutical market and stakeholders is an asset, especially in regards to sexual, reproductive and maternal health.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems. 

 

Languages:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese.
