Position Summary:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst for Reproductive Health and Midwifery is located in the UNFPA Country Office as part of the Women Health Cluster. He/ she reports to the Midwifery Specialist.

Under the direct supervision of Midwifery Specialist, the National M&E Analyst substantively contributes to the effective implementation of reproductive health and midwifery programmes in the Country Office in line with Government priorities and in keeping with the UNFPA Country Programme Action Plan. He/ she assists in the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on programme area by analyzing relevant political, social and economic trends and providing inputs to programme plans and implementation, joint programming initiatives and monitoring. The M&E Analyst assists with implementation by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures, as well as by monitoring results achieved during implementation.

The M&E Analyst maintains collaborative relationships with all programme staff. He/ she will also maintain collaborative relations with external contacts including other UN agencies in country and national counterparts involved in Country Programme activities in the field and various states.

Requirements:

Education:
  • Advanced degree in health, population, demography and/or other related social science field.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in the field of development and population activities would be desirable.
Languages:
  • Fluency in English is required;
  • Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
