During conflicts, natural disasters and other emergencies, sexual and reproductive health needs are easily overlooked – yet these needs are often staggering. Without access to reproductive health services, these women face an increased risk of life-threatening complications. Many women also lose access to family planning, exposing them to unwanted pregnancies in perilous conditions. Women and young people also become more vulnerable to sexual violence, exploitation and HIV infection. And the hygiene needs of women and girls are often neglected.

JOB PURPOSE

UNFPA has committed to scale up its humanitarian response and increase organizational capacity to ensure there is access to enough qualified individuals to deploy for short-term and emergencies assignments globally. This roster will facilitate the emergency recruitment (for external applicants/retirees/ consultants/contractors) or mission redeployment (for internal staff).  In this context, UNFPA is currently inviting experienced humanitarian practioners and internal staff to apply to be considered for registration in the UNFPA emergency roster.
