UNFPA's Strategic Partnerships Branch (SPB) within the Division of Communications and Strategic Partnerships (DCS) is leading corporate efforts to expand UNFPA's strategic
partnerships with the private sector and to mobilize resources from non-traditional partners.

Against this backdrop, SPB has officially launched the Start Up and Market Entry phase of UNFPA’s individual giving programme (IGP) in 2019 with the vision of raising $100 million per year in donations from individuals by 2030. The post holder will play a key role in helping UNFPA unlock the potential of this important new source of funding and deliver on income and supporter growth. The IGP is tasked with recruitment and retention of donors through digital channels and build a best in class donor experience for our supporters. UNFPA’s IGP will prioritise digital fundraising which will be managed centrally, enabling the organization to build and optimise fundraising campaigns and activities worldwide. The IGP programme will operate under a ‘test, prove and scale’ philosophy that encourages testing and learning new approaches, optimising performance and taking to scale campaigns and products that are proven to deliver results for our work in serving women and girls around the world.

We are looking for Digital Fundraising Consultant to join our start-up international team. You will have extensive expertise in digital fundraising and direct response marketing with experience in managing large-scale campaigns. You will work on deploying and optimising fundraising appeals aimed at recruiting new supporters with a focus on enhancing life-time value and experience of donors.

Responsibilities:

The Digital Fundraising Consultant is responsible for the following: 

Planning fundraising campaigns

  • Analyse audiences in key growth markets and identify opportunities for strong return on investment and large scale acquisition.
  • Plan and deliver fundraising appeals that prioritize recruitment of regular donors or the conversion of one-off donors to monthly givers.
  • Develop and execute engagement appeals which deliver high quality experiences for supporters
  • Continually optimise appeals based on Key Performance Indicators, especially return on investment 
  • Where required, work with third party creative and fundraising agencies  to develop new appeals.
  • Create a digital test matrix and deliver rapid reporting.

Content Development

  • Assess existing content including photographs, videos and stories and identify gaps in high quality content suitable for individual giving.
  • Maintain and update a depository of high quality and emotionally engaging content content.
  • Propose ideas for the development/generation of new content, informed by the data from test campaigns.

Campaign implementation

  • Create and deliver fundraising appeals on Facebook and Google Adwords.
  • Manage the content of donation pages and track campaign performance.
  • Create/edit basic video adverts to use in Facebook and  Instagram fundraising promotions.
  • Editing photos for Facebook and Instagram advertisements.
  • Deliver lead generation appeals aimed at future conversion.
  • Develop, manage and optimize donor journeys on Marketing Cloud.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and optimising them to ensure maximum ROI.
  • Configure Google Analytics to ensure effective monitoring of campaign performances across landing pages and channels.
  • Create campaign dashboards to monitor real time performance vs budget and determine actionable insights that help improve performance

Do you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Postgraduate University Degree or equivalent in marketing, fundraising, communications, social sciences or other fields directly related to the substantive area.
  • At least 4 years of experience of implementing digital acquisition and/or loyalty programmes.
  • Strong knowledge fundamentals of fundraising and donor journeys
  • Good working knowledge of Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience in working with email marketing platforms.
  • Good working knowledge of photo and video editing softwares such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Good knowledge of Facebook Ad Manager
  • Good knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Good understanding of how to maximise supporter/customer experience through digital channels
  • Able to work in a small and dynamic team in collaboration with multiple units. 
  • Able to work in a start-up mode where work plans and appeals are fluid while we determine where to scale.
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of another UN language is an asset but not required.

Compensation and Benefits: 

This position offers an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the level of the consultancy.
