Position

UNFPA will soon launch the co-creation process of the new UNFPA People (HR) Strategy 2022-2025, aligned and in support of UNFPA’s new Strategic Plan. In this context, DHR is looking for a highly motivated talent management consultant to support UNFPA’s People Strategy co-creation with specific focus on talent management strategy design and implementation. 

Scope of Work

Over the course of the consultancy, the selected candidate would be responsible for: 

People and Talent Management Strategy: For the design and implementation of UNFPA’s new People Strategy the consultant would contribute to one or more working groups on talent management e.g. conduct research/best practices, Data Review of current talent management practices at UNFPA /  integrate information, prepare / give presentations.

Talent Management and Project Management: The consultant would manage projects / provide support for the design and / or the delivery of projects and initiatives in the areas of people strategy, talent management, talent reviews, succession planning, leadership (pipeline) development / management. Create communication materials and presentations, data analysis and integration.

Process Improvement: Consultant will assist with mapping the current process for the recruitment, selection and approval of Leadership Positions in the organization. He/She will then conduct a lean process improvement exercise to streamline the process and make recommendations to DHR Leadership. Recommendations on how to use systems as enablers will be expected.  Once endorsed, a plan for communication and capacity development of key stakeholders will be rolled out.

ERP Implementation: Provide support for the corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) (HR IT) launch related to talent management, e.g. attend ERP meetings, undertake user testing, support the roll-out (creation of end-user briefing documents, conduct briefings to various stakeholder groups, collect and upload relevant data for the Talent Module of the ERP system). In addition, carry out any other duties as may be required by the HR Specialist Career Development and Talent Mobility or the Branch Chief Career Development and Talent Mobility.

Requirements

Education

A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of work experience or master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of work experience. 

Experience

  • Professional experience in HR / People Strategy design and implementation;
  • Professional experience in the design and implementation of talent management programmes, initiatives or products e.g. talent reviews, succession planning, strategic workforce planning, career development, leadership roster management, leadership development;
  • Strong experience in project and programme management at international level;
  • Experience in HR systems / ERP desired;
  • Knowledge of process improvement and LEAN strategies an asset;
  • Strong communication skills and strong skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word;
  • Well developed data and analytics experience;
  • Experience with UN or in multinational context desired. 

Languages

Working knowledge in English required; knowledge of additional UN language such as French or Spanish desired.

Note: In case the selected candidate works remotely, it is required that the consultant will have access to a PC with reliable internet to perform the functions of the position.
