Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark became a Patron of UNFPA in 2010. She has also served as a member of the High-Level Task Force on the International Conference on Population and Development, undertaken field visits to UNFPA programmes across five regions and participated in numerous events, amplifying the voices of disadvantaged girls and women around the world.

As a Patron of UNFPA, she has been a very visible and vocal advocate for UNFPA's mandate and has become a respected spokesperson on sexual and reproductive health and rights, notably as they relate to maternal health, youth and humanitarian issues.
