United Nations HQ, New York

This event will launch the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All, under which 12 multilateral organizations to work together to accelerate country progress on the health-related Sustainable Development Goals.

Global health leaders will gather on 23 September at the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly to discuss the Global Action Plan, which calls for participating organizations to adopt new ways of working at global, regional and country-levels, to build on rather than duplicate existing successful collaborations and jointly align their support around countries’ national plans and strategies to meet Sustainable Development Goal no. 3 on healthy lives and well-being for all.

The event will showcase political commitments toward health as a precondition, driver and outcome of sustainable development. It will include remarks on data from UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Natalia Kanem.

The launch will take place at UN Headquarters in New York from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
