Still We Rise – Ending Slavery’s Legacy of Racism: a global imperative for justice

Through music, voice and song, we honour the memory and legacy of courage of the victims of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade. 

Join the global youth, the Honourable Jean Augustine, Melissa Noel, hip-hop artist Webster, musicians Peter Gabriel and Angelique Kidjo, the UN Deputy Secretary-General and Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, UNESCO Deputy Director-General and UNFPA Executive Director and the permanent observers of the African Union and CARICOM, in an online cultural event to mark the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

The programme held on Thursday, 25 March 8:45-10:00 EDT includes musical performances, mini-documentaries, a multilingual poetry reading with diverse representation, and a discussion.
