This meeting of the General Assembly will address the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases worldwide, with a particular focus on developmental and other challenges and social and economic impacts, particularly for developing countries. UNFPA is co-sponsoring a side-event on Integrating Non-Communicable Diseases: The Next Frontier in Women's Health.
At the conclusion of the UN Summit on Non-Communicable Diseases and leading into the High-level Debate of the General Assembly, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will host a high-level, one-year check in on the implementation the Every Woman, Every Child effort.
