The Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS will meet for its annual session from 8–11 June at the UN Headquarters in New York.
UNFPA-related segments during the four-day session will include a statement from UNFPA Executive Director Ms. Diene Keita, the presentation of UNFPA country programme documents and discussions of the UN80 Initiative, with a focus on the potential merger of UNFPA and UN Women.
The Executive Board provides intergovernmental support and supervision of the activities of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS, in accordance with the policy guidance of the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the United Nations Charter.
The board ensures that UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS remain responsive to the evolving needs of programme countries. It supports the work of UNFPA in delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.
