21st International AIDS Conference

18 July 2016

Durban International Convention Centre

The International AIDS Conference is a biennial gathering for experts, advocates, policymakers and people living with HIV. This year's International AIDS Conference calls attention to the need to reach communities that still lack access to HIV treatment, prevention care and support. The world's most marginalized communities are the most likely to go without these essential, life-saving services and treatments.

UNFPA works to integrate HIV education, prevention, outreach and care into all sexual and reproductive health care. This is part of a strategy to achieve universal sexual and reproductive health care, including universal access to HIV services. UNFPA also supports the empowerment of key populations, women and girls, and young people to live healthy and fulfilling lives and to receive the sexual and reproductive health services they need, free from stigma, discrimination and violence.
