UNFPA Report Describes Impact of Crises on Women, Adolescent Girls

Global Launch Set for 3 December

UNITED NATIONS, New York, 24 November 2015—A new report by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, focuses on the extraordinary burdens that women and adolescent girls are bearing as the multitude of crises, wars and natural disasters leave a long trail of turmoil and destruction.

The State of World Population 2015, Shelter from the Storm: A transformative agenda for women and girls in a crisis-prone world, to be released globally at 12:01 a.m. GMT on 3 December, also provides concrete suggestions on how to protect the rights of women and adolescent girls, particularly their sexual and reproductive rights.

UNFPA’s flagship publication will be released simultaneously in Berlin, Geneva, The Hague, London, Madrid, New York, Paris, Rome, Stockholm, Washington, D.C. and many other cities worldwide. It will be available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
