Donor Rankings, 2022

2nd Core Contributions
5th Non Core Contributions
3rd Overall Contributions

Donor rankings include UN-to-UN transfers, which are UNFPA's top source of revenue overall.

One of the six priorities for development cooperation for the Government of Norway is the strengthening of women's right to decide over their own bodies. In health, Norway wants to improve women’s, children’s and young people’s health; fight major infectious diseases; strengthen health systems in the poorest countries; and promote access to sexual and reproductive health services, particularly in crisis and conflict situations. In gender, Norway prioritizes girls’ education, gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health and rights, among others. Ending female genital mutilation, comprehensive sexuality education and disability are other priority themes for Norway.

Norway prioritizes support to UNFPA’s core funding, which is considered the most efficient investment in the organization as it enables long-term planning, flexible responses to emerging priorities, and sustainable support for human rights-based programmes that improve the lives of women and young people in developing countries.

Norway supports UNFPA’s efforts to promote rights-based adolescent and youth development; programmes to end child marriage and teenage pregnancies; initiatives that enhance reproductive health and rights; and efforts to combat gender-based violence, including in humanitarian settings. Funding from Norway also supports UNFPA Supplies and the Joint Programme on Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting.
