UNFPA quadrennial budgeted evaluation plan, 2022-2025

UNFPA quadrennial budgeted evaluation plan, 2022-2025

Resource date: 07 Feb 2022

The UNFPA quadrennial budgeted evaluation plan, 2022-2025, provides a coherent framework to guide the commissioning, management and use of evaluations at UNFPA.

To ensure full relevance to the UNFPA strategic plan, 2022-2025, the plan was developed following a transparent and participatory process with all stakeholders. It is intentionally designed to be a flexible plan, to be responsive to shifts in the fast changing external environment.

The evaluation priorities captured in the plan align with the UNFPA strategic plan and address critical knowledge gaps in the organization. From 2022 to 2025, UNFPA will conduct 24 centralized evaluations, 57 country programme evaluations and six regional programme evaluations. Among the centralized evaluations, 58 per cent will either be joint or system-wide exercises, against 25 per cent in the previous plan. In line with UNFPA commitment to the United Nations reform process, this will further strengthen evaluation coherence in the United Nations system.
