The UNFPA Big Data Bootcamp, held from 3-5 February 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, brought together more than 25 external experts from academia, the private sector and UN agencies, along with 30 UNFPA data experts to use hands-on methodologies to explore the implications and practical applications of big data for development, human rights and global health.

Through a three-day, participatory Bootcamp, the participants moved from exploring what big data means to designing potential solutions with big data, exploring areas in which UNFPA can become meaningfully engaged in the big data movement.
