Several reports commissioned by UNFPA offices provide insights into socio-cultural (including religious) dynamics pertaining to women and children's reproductive health in various countries. The reports explore, among other issues, the challenges that health workers face in these countries and offer recommendations for action. Common challenges include harmful traditional practices, affordability and quality of care and service-provider attitudes. The recommendations are aimed at increasing access to and use of reproductive health services by addressing affordability, staff training, policies, information, attitudes of service providers, gender inequalities, management issues and community relations.
