Session 2. Designing Quality Sexual and Reproductive Health Services

Implementing and monitoring feasible standards of care Presenter to be announced
Presenter will discuss programmatic implications to ensure that the quality of care is improved according to feasible standards of care which considers clients needs and user’s perspectives including the role given to counselling in making informed choices. The presentation will examine how quality is monitored and evaluated with new indicators for programme performance.

Presenter will address aspects of broadening constellation of services within existing systems including management implications of integration: coordination, training, supervision and logistics including how to collect process indicators useful for management decisions
Reducing maternal mortality
Dr. Khama Rogo, University of Nairobi, Kenya
Presenter will introduce the challenge of improving maternal health care services including strengthening/implementing emergency obstetric services including the treatment of abortion-related sepsis. Presenter will also discuss issues related quality of and access to care, post-partum and post-abortion family planning, cost of service delivery and introduction of technologies into existing systems
