Linkages: Evidence Review & Recommendations

Strengthening the linkages between sexual and reproductive health and HIV prevention, treatment, care and support is critical to achieving the Millennium Development Goals. This systematic review of the literature on linkages between these two areas was conducted in order to gain a clearer understanding of the effectiveness, optimal circumstances, and best practices for strengthening such links. The findings corroborate the many benefits of linking policies, systems and services related to sexual and reproductive health and HIV.

Third Stocktaking Report, 2008

This joint stocktaking report highlights the importance of knowing the features of different AIDS epidemics in order to contain or reverse them. It argues for expanded paediatric AIDS testing and treatment as well as prevention of mother-to-child transmission and new infections among adolescents and young people. It also advocates for expanded protection and care for the approximately 15 million children globally who have lost either one or both of their parents due to AIDS, sparking greater attention to the needs of all vulnerable young.
