UNFPA Executive Director Featured on CNN’s African Voices

UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin sat down recently with CNN’s correspondent, Aisha Sesay, to talk about his work promoting health and equal opportunity around the world.

In the interview, Nigerian-born Dr. Osotimehin talks about his long career caring for women, first as a local doctor from Ogun State and later as Minister of Health for Nigeria. He speaks about the experiences that qualified him for his current position, the ways in which meeting with women around the world has been “a humbling experience,” and the difficulties of addressing HIV in conservative societies. He also reflects about how his mother’s strength influenced him.
