The Millennium Development Goals Report 2013

This annual report examines progress in achieving the eight Millennium Development Goals. With the deadline for the MDGs on the horizon (2015), progress can be reported in most areas, despite the continuing impact of the global economic and financial crisis. For instance, maternal mortality has been reduced by 47 per cent, although much more progress is needed to reach the goal of a 75 per cent reduction. .

Ten Good Practices in Essential Supplies for Family Planning and Maternal Health

UNFPA is intensifying strategic support to voluntary family planning through its Global Programme to Enhance Reproductive Health Commodity Security. Countries participating in the Global Programme are now reporting their own success stories backed by measureable results. This publication shares numerous examples of activities in countries participating in the Global Programme to Enhance Reproductive Health Commodity Security as of 2011. Examples are included from Burkina Faso, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Lao PDR, Madagascar, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone. Many are Stream 1 countries in the GPRHCS, which means they receive sustained, multi-year support.
